On Halloween, as the boys and I were trick or treating up off of Diamond Hill Road, we heard some screams and shouts from the next house and assumed that some folks were having some Halloween fun. A few minutes later, as the boys continued to trick or treat, I learned that a boy had been struck by a falling tree as he was standing at the end of a driveway opening a piece of candy. When I stood over him, many other parents, including his dad and Kevin and Melissa Pike were gathered around him doing their best to save him. The police and fire arrived minutes later.
Christian Gualtieri was 10 years old (soon to be 11 on November 5) when he died later that night. He was a very nice, soft spoken boy with a great smile and he played with Liam for the champion Cubs (see post and picture below).
